Moving Data from Amazon S3 to Salesforce Wave

Many of us use Amazon S3 every day, and we don’t even know it. If you have ever looked at a picture on Pinterest, watched a movie on Netflix, or backed up a file on Dropbox, you’ve used Amazon S3. Amazon S3 is cloud storage for the Internet. Amazon designed S3 to make web-scale computing easier for developers, and they do it with a strong commitment to security. Because of this, Gartner declared Amazon the market leader in their latest Magic Quadrant for Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS).

According to Amazon S3’s website “Whether you’re storing pharmaceutical data for analysis, financial data for computation and pricing, or photo images for resizing, Amazon S3 is an ideal location to store your original content.” But having a safe and economical place to store a lot of data isn’t really giving businesses much of a competitive advantage. Salesforce Wave (Analytics Cloud) gives organizations a way to take this data and put it in users hands to guide decisions.

In the video below, Appirio consultant Dustin Weaver demonstrates how he uses Talend to push data into Wave. Talend is a flexible, open source tool data consultants love to use. Dustin chunks up the data into digestible parts and imports it into Wave.
